In medieval Spain, hidalgos were fallen members of nobility. In a time of economic failure, hidalgos had to meddle with the common folk and work in fields that used to be strongly frown upon by the upper class.
In our view, “Hidalgo” depicts both the proud and noble heritage of the Tervueren as well as its reliability and accessibility. It is that surprising complementarity that we are trying to reflect upon, in a way that compliments the exotic character of the belgian shepherd.
